Meeting practical needs

Although we recognise the importance of "teaching a man to fish", there are still many situations where practical, generous intervention is called for - particularly in cases involving vulnerable communities such as children. We have a number of projects which aim to provide such practical support:
  1. Our sewing group meet every two weeks to make clothing for needy children. It is quite incredible what they have produced over the years.
  2. One of our home groups is running an ongoing initiative to provide basic toiletries for a number of needy families identified by our community worker.
  3. A retiring offering given during our communion services goes towards our caring fund which provides emergency help for struggling families.
